Buying a business is easier than starting one from scratch. Here is why

Having been in Techstars (top tier VC) , exited a SAAS i have a little bit of experince in building a business. Starting a business is extremely difficult and so there are plenty of reasons to think why buying one off the shelf may in fact be easier than starting one yourself. The business has not only been validated (which means you dont have to spend 1 year of your life trying to make it work and investing your own energy in it) but it will save you tons of time and emotional distress.

  1. Buying a business means that it has already been validated and there are paying customers (most of the time)
  2. It has a proven business model
  3. Already has operation processes in place
  4. Will be faster to scale it
  5. Already has existing customer and client base

It was ex goldman sachs infleuncer codie sanchez that said you should be buying boring businesses. "I've bought 75+ small boring businesses over the last 10 years"

CNN also published a report saying boring businesses are the future

But it does not have to be boring. Having a business that is already running reduces your risk a lot.
